ABBIE FISH
Founder/Technique Coach
Abbie Fish is the founder and head coach of Swim Like A. Fish, a globally recognized swim education platform established in 2019. With over 25 years in competitive swimming and 15+ years of elite coaching experience, Abbie has helped transform the sport through their innovative approach to stroke mechanics, video analysis, and athlete education.
A six-time U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, NCAA and SEC finalist, and two-time USA Junior National Champion, Abbie earned both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Exercise Science from the University of Georgia as a proud Double Dawg. They began coaching while still competing and quickly became known for their expertise in biomechanics and underwater technique.
Abbie has coached thousands of swimmers from all over the world—including over 140 Olympians and Paralympians from countries such as the U.S., Brazil, Singapore, Mexico, Wales, Australia, and more. They’ve worked with top athletes like Allison Schmitt, Nic Fink, Bruno Fratus, Lydia Jacoby, and Jamal Hill.
Through Swim Like A. Fish, Abbie has led swim camps, clinics, and consulting projects in over a dozen countries and across more than 15 U.S. states. Their clients span every level of the sport—from grassroots age groupers to college programs and elite national teams. They’ve collaborated with programs such as the University of Georgia, Swimming Singapore, International School of Bangkok, Vanderbilt, and the U.S. Naval Academy. They’ve also consulted for U.S. Paralympic Swimming and USA Swimming.
Abbie is a frequent speaker at national and international coaching conferences including ASCA World Clinic, ISCA, CSCAA, and the Australian Swim Teachers and Coaches Association Annual Convention. They are currently a Sport Science Consultant for Swimming Singapore and a Content Provider for USA Swimming.
Their mission is simple yet powerful: to help any swimmer or coach—no matter their age, experience, or location—swim smarter and faster through world-class stroke education and personalized coaching.
