ABBIE FISH

Founder/Technique Coach

Abbie founded Swim Like A. Fish in 2019 after a distinguished 25-year career in competitive swimming and over 15 years of elite swim coaching. Throughout their swimming journey, Abbie achieved remarkable milestones, including being a six-time Olympic Trial qualifier, SEC finalist, NCAA qualifier, and a two-time USA Junior National Champion. Abbie began coaching while pursuing a master’s degree and still actively competing. They are a proud “Double Dawg” from the University of Georgia, where they earned both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Exercise Science. Transitioning from swimmer to coach felt like a natural progression for Abbie.

Abbie has coached thousands of swimmers worldwide, including over 130 Olympians and Paralympians, through virtual coaching, clinics, conferences, camps, and lessons. They are a regular speaker at the ASCA World Clinic, ISCA Conference, and CSCAA Conventions. Currently, Abbie serves as a Sport Science Consultant for Swimming Singapore. With extensive swimming knowledge, Abbie considers themselves a passionate swimming enthusiast, particularly interested in stroke mechanics and underwater filming. Their favorite place on earth is at the bottom of a pool.

Abbie’s goal with Swim Like A. Fish is to help any coach or swimmer, regardless of age or location, improve their speed through excellent stroke technique education.
