Skyler grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. His swimming journey began at nine years old with the 7 Hills Barracudas, where he is now co-head coach. Skyler competed for the club swim team at the University of Tennessee.
Skyler has coached hundreds of athletes in Nashville and Knoxville area. Skyler now coaches two public High School Teams (Hume Fogg & Hillsboro HS), Age Group swimmers Ensworth Aquatics, Adults through Grown-Up Swimming, and Volunteers with the Nashville Dolphins. Between all of these teams, Skyler is the primary coach for ~200 athletes in a given year.
Skyler and Abbie’s paths crossed when they coached at competing club teams in Tennessee back in 2014, and then they found themselves working together on various projects while Skyler interned for Ritter Sports Performance.
