Ever wondered what it’s like to transition from Learn-To-Swim to High-Performance coaching? Well, luckily last Fall I sat down with Marcus Cheah, Assistant Coach of Singapore’s National Swim Team.
Marcus grew up swimming in Singapore himself, and after his university career ended he came back home and started a swim school. A few short years after that, a position opened up at the National Team and he was offered the job.
Just like many ‘younger’ coaches within the sport, Marcus is trying to learn as MUCH as he can and absorb from as many different coaches as possible. He is currently testing and trying out new things with his swimmers everyday to get them to their swimming goals.

And What About Dryland?
Big thanks to the Singapore Swimming Association for letting me come and shadow on deck for a few days! I had a great time.
